Senior Data Engineer

Simple is an AI-powered health coaching app with 17M+ downloads and 300K+ 5-star reviews. We’re currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Tech team. What you’ll be doing: • Building and developing streaming data pipelines • Creating ingestion pipelines from APIs, webhooks, and SDKs • Gradually moving ingestion from SaaS tools to our own infrastructure • Working with our AWS streaming stack: Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway • Developing infrastructure as code with Terraform • Ensuring reliable data delivery into Snowflake • Monitoring production pipelines and troubleshooting incidents • Contributing to data infrastructure for AI agents and internal AI tools What we’re looking for: • 5+ years of commercial experience with Python in backend or data engineering • Strong understanding of distributed systems • Hands-on experience with AWS or another cloud platform • Experience building streaming pipelines • Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools • Strong SQL skills • Experience working with real‑world production data, including late, duplicated, or incorrect events • Ability to make architectural decisions independently and take ownership of production systems Nice to have: experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow / Dagster / Prefect, and sensitive or regulated data.
